Hotel Ngdrup
is a cozy guesthouse located just outside the confines of the famous
Boudhanath stupa in Katmandhu Nepal. Guests come from all over the
world to stay at the hotel and to visit the many beautiful and exotic
sites that this small country has to offer. They are attracted to
the Boudhnath area because of the many Tibetan Buddhists monasteries
located there and to the numerous teachings and exotic rituals that
are available to students, tourists and those interested in the
dharma and rites of Tibetan Buddhism.
Ven. Thrangu
Rinpoche built this comfortable oasis for his students and friends
that come to Nepal for teachings and the experience of Nepal and
Tibetan Buddhism. It is associated with his monastery, Thrangu Tashi
Choling and was built to help generate funds for educational programmes
for his large monastic community.
The building
has 25 guest rooms some with small kitchenettes. There are common
areas for the varying needs of groups and individuals. These include:
a meditation room, often used by visiting Rinpoches for teachings
to small groups, a guest TV/reading lounge, a classroom and a roof
top garden with views of the mountains.
